ARTICLE I:
NAME
The name of the
organization shall be the Upper Peninsula Recycling Coalition
(UPRC).
ARTICLE II:
PURPOSE
The Upper
Peninsula Recycling Coalition will promote the reduction of materials going
into landfills through recycling, reusing and reducing. Additional objectives
are:
1. To foster a
cooperative relationship among the recycling programs, private, industry, and
government agencies to increase the recycling of materials.
2. To provide a
network to share ideas, technical assistance, and information between
interested organizations and individuals.
3. To provide
information and education on waste reduction through an annual conference,
periodic newsletters and news releases.
4. To increase
the demand for recycled products through public education.
5. To promote
the use of products made from recycled materials.
6. To promote
research and development in recycling technology.
ARTICLE III:
MEMBERSHIP (REVISED 1996)
There shall be
two (2) membership classes:
1. Individual /
Student / Educational Member: Any person who completes a membership application
and provides the appropriate dues shall be a voting member of the UPRC and
shall have his/her name and address recorded by the secretary. Any member is
eligible for election to the Board of Directors. Membership shall be valid
between annual meetings.
2.
Organizational Member: Any business, organization, or governmental entity that
completes a membership application and provides the appropriate dues shall be a
voting member of the UPRC and shall have its name and address recorded by the
secretary. Each organization, business, or municipal corporation wishing to be
a member shall select a representative (and an alternate) to place its vote.
Such representatives shall be eligible for election to the Board of Directors.
Membership shall be valid between annual meetings.

The annual dues
for each type of membership shall be:
1. Individual /
Student / Educational: $15.00 Per Year
2.
Organizational: $35.00 Per Year
Section 3:
Membership Applications
To assure that
the Coalition remains committed to the goals as set forth in Article II above,
membership applications will be accepted or rejected, and periodically reviewed
by the Board of Directors, as deemed necessary.
